A few days ago, WhatsApp has introduced Live Locations, which allows users to share contacts and locations in the live timeline. This means that anyone who shares your physical location can keep track of your location until you turn it off. This is a very handy feature for a number of reasons. First, it's a great tool for people you meet in a common place. Real-time location states can be shared with each other at the same location. Secondly, it's a great security feature for those who travel to unknown places. It's a good idea to know that someone you trust can track your location. So I was just interested in this feature. Let's see how to use the WhatsApp Live Locations feature.
Share live locations on WhatsApp on Android or iPhone
This feature is included in the same field where you can share your static location with people in the past. If you do not know how to do it, follow the steps to learn how to share your actual location data.
#1: Start WhatsApp and open the chat field for the person you want to share the location with. Now tap the attachment icon shown in the picture below.
#2: Tap "Location" here. On this page, you can see that you can share your current location or physical location. If you share your current location, you can track your current location. This is not what we want. You can say "live location sharing" because you want to share your real-time location status.
#3: Now there is a pop-up card that explains this feature. Tap the tab for more information. However, because you have already explained, click "Continue". Here you can specify how long your contact will track your location. There are three options to choose from (15 minutes, 1 hour and 8 hours). Select a time, type a description if you want, and then tap Send.
#4: Now, you'll be wondering what happens if you share your location data for over an hour to eight hours. If so, first share your location for 8 hours. To stop sharing data (for example, after 3 hours), open the person's shared chat and tap "Stop sharing." This will prevent WhatsApp from sharing your live location.
It is very easy to share location data using WhatsApp whenever possible. What I want to mention here is that you can use Google Maps to take advantage of this feature because you do not use WhatsApp. Just launch Google Maps and tap on the burger menu. From there you can find an option to share your physical location using any messaging or email service. When the contact clicks or tapes on the link, the Google Maps application opens and tracks.
